First, he stood before us and boldly claimed there was no crisis. He dismissed the cries of mothers, the trauma of our children, and the burning of our towns. He chose denial over compassion. But now, as though we’ve forgotten, he turns around and openly admits to having a cordial and close relationship with Chris Anu and others who have orchestrated chaos, fear, and pain in our Anglophone regions.
Let it be known: the same man who denied our reality now embraces the very actors who contributed to our devastation. Is this not hypocrisy? Is this not betrayal?
So we ask — has Tchiroma been a shadow player all along? Has he been the quiet architect behind the ghost towns, behind the fear that gripped our Mondays and the silence that swept through our markets and schools?
After his visit to Bamenda, his known associates — notably Mark Bareta — suddenly call for a suspension of ghost towns. And conveniently, it’s just in time to urge us to vote for the very man who helped silence our voices. A man who for years said there is no Anglophone problem, yet now wants to lead the same people he once ignored.
We say this clearly and firmly: “NO”.
If he truly has such close ties with the very forces who destabilized our lives, if he considers them allies, then he cannot be trusted with the leadership of this nation. It’s not just a matter of politics — this is a matter of national betrayal. This is high treason.
And let us not be blind: the very day after his resignation, his first official visit was to the French Embassy. The symbolism is loud. It is clear. It reveals exactly where his allegiances lie — and it’s not with the suffering people of the North West or South West. It’s not with the displaced. It’s not with the grieving.
We, the people, have opened our eyes. We are awake.
We refuse to be manipulated by theatrics and fake reconciliations. We refuse to trade our pain for empty promises. We may want unity — yes — but not at the cost of our truth, not at the expense of justice.
We say NO to hypocrisy. NO to betrayal. NO to carefully crafted lies.
The blood of our people is not a campaign strategy.
Our silence is not approval.
Our votes are not for sale.
One People, One Power — but not like this.
